Storytelling is one of the oldest cultural expressions we have. Oral traditions shape us as people and bring us together in sharing ideas, movements, and dreams. From traditional folklore to modern, digital listicles, the idea that we can share important information with one another in an educational and captivating way has always fascinated me.
I have always had an unexplained passion for reading – it got to the point where my mom had to stop buying me books with less than 100 pages because I would whip through them in a day. It doesn't matter what I'm reading, whether it be a newsletter or novel, because it's the ability to absorb a new story that I have never heard before that sucks me in.
After completing my BA in English with a Creative Writing minor, I was on a search for a job and stumbled across Public Relations and Marketing. I decided to take a leap back into the world of education and went from an average student who didn't find much interest in my BA classes to an ardent absorber of information sharing, public communication and digital platforms: I had found my passion.
With valuable experience in public relations, social media management, tourism marketing, web and social media copywriting, and government-level communications, I am eager to try anything new that is thrown my way and continue to strengthen my toolkit as a professional.
I'd love to help you tell your story, so feel free to connect and start up a conversation!
I asked a number of my close friends and co-workers what they first thought of when my name was mentioned. The most common response was “Something sweet — probably a donut.”
